MIYAWAKI Plantation at SRPF Campus, Pune

Volunteers from Medline India, along with Green Yatra team had planted 2000 trees at SRPF Campus in Pune. Today, the formerly rocky section of land has transformed in to a lush green plantation. The sight of such greenery feels like a breath of fresh air.

We expect the plantation to grow in to a self-sustaining, dense forest.

Here are few photographs showing the growth of the foliage, then and now

Inauguration of Solar Water Pumps

In many Indian villages, where electricity is scarce, access to water remains an ongoing struggle for a lot of people. Due to the high electricity bills of traditional water pumps, Grampanchayat expenses also increase. Solar water pumps can be a part of the solution. Medline India with the support from Deepasthambha Charitable Trust installed two solar water pumps at Satewadi and Vadoli Nileshwar villages, situated in Satara district.

Each solar water pump comes with a capacity of around 10 kw, while the water motor pump is 5.5 HP. Around 1400+ families comprising of 7000 villagers have been benefitted with the installation of solar pumps. Additional benefits of these solar pumps is that it will help to reduce the operating costs of pumps in the scorching summer months as well as in winters.

Solar pumps are part of an environmentally friendly approach providing a clean, simple and affordable energy solution for agriculture as well as portable drinking water.
